What Totopo collects
Totopo collects the information needed to provide a private food journal and nutrition tracker. "Private" means your journal is not public to other users; some information is still processed by Totopo and service providers so the app can work.
This may include app or account identifiers, profile and goal information, food entries and corrections, scanned label photos or barcodes when you use scanning, optional Apple Health data you authorize, subscription status from the App Store, and app usage, crash, and performance data.
How Totopo uses information
Totopo uses information to create and sync your journal, estimate nutrition, show progress, process subscriptions, restore purchases, delete accounts, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve app reliability.
Service providers
Totopo uses service providers to host and sync data, process subscriptions, understand app reliability, look up product information, and generate nutrition estimates. Food entries, scanned product context, label photos, and relevant prior journal context may be processed by automated nutrition-estimation services.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, or unrelated profiling.
Apple Health
Apple Health is optional. With your permission, Totopo reads weight, height, date of birth or age, biological sex, and recent step counts to help set up your profile and show activity context. Current beta builds do not write data to Apple Health. You can change Health permissions in iOS Settings.
TestFlight beta testing
During TestFlight beta testing, Apple may collect and share with Totopo tester usage data, crash logs, feedback, screenshots, comments, device information, and, depending on invite type, tester name or email address. Totopo uses this information to run the beta, fix issues, and respond to feedback.
Retention and deletion
Totopo keeps information while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. Scan media is kept only as long as needed to process the scan, support the related journal entry, or troubleshoot the feature.
You can initiate account deletion from the app settings. Deletion removes your Totopo account record and associated app data from Totopo systems, except for limited information retained for legal, billing, security, fraud-prevention, support, or backup reasons. App Store subscription and purchase records are handled separately by Apple. Deleting your Totopo account does not cancel an active App Store subscription.

Children
Totopo is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.
